UIL awarded a $1.7 M grant from the Department of Energy!

We are excited to be co-leading a $1.7 M grant from the U.S. Department of Energy titled "I-DREEM (Impact of Demand Response on short and long-term building Energy Efficiency Metrics) with Prof. Johanna Mathieu (EECS, Michigan). Prof. Ian Hiskens (EECS, Michigan) and Prof. Jeremiah Johnson (CCE, North Carolina State) are also collaborators on the project.  Support from the Building Technology Office (BTO) at the U.S. Department of Energy is gratefully acknowledged.

MIT-Tata Center Research Award

UIL is collaborating with Prof. Les Norford (MIT) and Prof. Ronita Bardhan (IIT-Bombay, Visiting Professor at UIL) on a MIT-Tata Center project to improve kitchen air quality in Mumbai’s Dharavi settlement.

Congrats to UIL Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Zheng Yang for being named a 2017 New Faces in Civil Engineering Honoree by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)! ASCE’s New Faces of Civil Engineering recognition programs highlight the next generation of civil engineering leaders and we are proud that Zheng was one of 10 chosen this year.  Check out Zheng's featured ASCE news story to learn more.
